Gary Midkiff

Gary D. Midkiff - Principal Planner - graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Forestry. He has over 30 years in planning, permitting, and public and private administration, including 7 years at TRPA ( 5 as Assistant Director and 2 as Acting Director), and over 18 years as a private consultant providing permitting assistance and project facilitation at Lake Tahoe. Gary has extensive experience and contacts throughout the Tahoe Basin, including permitting many projects (public and private) through the TRPA, NV State Lands Div., NTRPA, and US Army Corps of Engineers. He started Midkiff and Associates Inc. in 1990.


Cheri Seibel

Cheri Seibel - Office Manager - has over 25 years experience in office and personnel management. She joined the Midkiff and Associates team in 1998. Cheri is the glue that holds us together, and is the ray of sunshine brightening our days, as well as our clients.


Kim Iliffe

Kim Iliffe - Senior Planner - obtained her Masters in Planning & Urban Development from Florida State University in 2001. Kim rejoined our company in October 2007, having left the Tahoe basin for 4 years to work as a planning consultant in London, UK. Kim has 9 years of extensive planning experience working for both public and private sectors. She is currently working on finalizing the permitting process for the redevelopment at South Tahoe Refuse (a complex planning effort our office has been actively involved in for the last 5 years), advising on the redevelopment of lakefront estates and bringing projects forward within the newly emerging Tahoe Valley Community Plan.


Nick Exline

Nicholas D. Exline - Assistant Planner - received his Bachelor of Sciences degrees from the University of Nevada in Biology and Geography in 2003. Following graduation from the University of Nevada he moved to Monterey, California and began working with Land Watch Monterey and Watt and Associates. While working toward a master's degree with an emphasis on economics, he spent two and a half years as a planner for Washoe County, Nevada. He worked extensively on planning issues in Incline Village, Lake Tahoe including: affordable housing, creation of general improvement districts, single family additions/modifications, and contributed to Incline Village Area Plans. In May, 2008 he received a master's degree in Land Use Planning from the University of Nevada. Nick joined Midkiff and Associates Inc. in 2008.


Liz Lundholm

Liz Lundholm - Assistant Planner II - came to Midkiff and Associates from Michigan in 2008. In Michigan, she worked for Community Planning Services, a consulting firm that focused on both the public and private planning sectors in the Lansing area. Her major projects included land use, economic development, transportation, and neighborhood plans for Lansing area jurisdictions. She authored four comprehensive development plans, all of which emphasized Smart Growth Principles. She has also participated in international planning projects in Germany and the Dominican Republic focusing on Brownfield redevelopment strategies and community development in a tourism economy. Liz received her Master's degree from Michigan State University in Urban and Regional Planning with an emphasis on redevelopment strategies. She also holds a BS degree in Environmental Science and Policy from Central Michigan University.

Doug Midkiff

Doug Midkiff - IT Manager - has over 10 years experience in computer troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance. He has degrees in Liberal Arts, and Fine Arts with a theatre emphasis. He has been seen on The History Channel, local commercials, infomercials, and the big screen. Doug is also a professional public speaker, which he teaches in addition to customer service skills and sales techniques. You may have seen him at Harrah's Casino Hotels hosting promotions and events as well. Doug has been with Midkiff and Associates Inc. since its inception in 1990.
